Do I have to pay extra for my bikes to be delivered?

No! As long as you meet the delivery minimum for your location, we will deliver the bike to the trailhead. We operate out of Dead Horse Point State Park and make deliveries to the Moab Brands in the mornings and afternoons. Delivery minimums vary. Text us to inquire about other trails.

Do you rent E-Bikes?

Yes! We rent electric pedal assist full suspension mountain bikes with dropper seat posts. Our e-bikes are the Marin Rift Zone EL 2 (Electric Light) $6,500 MSRP. We rent for a single daily rate. No hourly rental available.

Where are we located?

Our main shop is the Dead Horse Outpost within Dead Horse Point State Park at the mountain bike trailhead. This location requires a $20 park entrance fee. We send out bike rentals from 9am to noon at Dead Horse.

Dead Horse Point State Park is Moab's best kept secret. Skip the crowds for incredible overlooks of the Colorado river, the La Sal mountain range, and Canyonlands National Park. The trail system is family friendly with beginner to intermediate trails. ​It is also dog friendly, the national parks are not. The park has an entry fee; $20, subject to change. This park is approximately 40 minutes from downtown Moab. There are no services in the area. Fill up on fuel and bring lunch before you head to the park.

Our Arches Views rentals and tours are located at the Moab Brand Trails, only 15 minutes from downtown Moab. This trail system has the most convenient beginner to intermediate options and is a great introduction to riding a variety of desert terrain. This borders Arches National Park with views of Balanced Rock and Windows Arches. There are no mountain bike trails in Arches National Park. Our staff will message you prior to meeting at the trailhead. 

What is included with the bike rental?​

Bike delivery, helmets, trail maps, trail riding tips, bike tubes and tools.

We have a water cooler at our Dead Horse location and we sell bike water bottles.

What is not included with my bike rental?

Free trailside assistance. Flat tires and mechanical issues caused by accidental misuse of the equipment are always possible. Staff will provide bike tubes and tools with the rental. When out on the trail, you are required to fix your flat tire. If you do not have the ability to fix the bike, you are at risk for a ride cut short as well as additional damage charges. Bike insurance is available to purchase.

 

What do I do if I don't how to fix a flat, pull out cactus spurs, or know the difference between tubes and tubeless?

Hire a guide! Guides are prepared to change tubes and troubleshoot mechanical issues on site.

What is included in my private guided tour?​

A professional guide, full suspension bike, helmet, water bottle, trail riding tips, park information, and trailside bike assistance. 

*We only book private guided tours. 

What type of bikes do you rent?​

We rent Marin Bikes. Our hardtails and the San Quentin 2 ($1,200 MSRP). Our full suspension bikes are the Rift Zone 2 ($2,000 MSRP). Our E-bikes are Marin Rift Zone Electric Light EL2 and Marin Alpine Trail E1 ($6,500 MSRP)

What are your hours?

​Our rental pick up hours are 9AM - NOON at The Dead Horse Outpost.

More flexible rental times are available at Arches View at Moab Brand trails.

In June, we open at 8AM due to the temperature over 90 degrees by noon.

When do you open for the season?

Spring season is mid March to mid June.

Fall season is mid September to mid November.

We close for the summer and winter seasons.​​​​

Can we walk up to rent bikes at The Dead Horse Outpost?

​Walk up rentals are not guaranteed. We sell out of certain bike sizes regularly during our busy season. You can make a day of bike rental reservation for Dead Horse Point State Park on our website. If you make a reservation on our website, the bike will be at our location ready for you. You must reserve bikes in advance for the Arches Views at the Moab Brands Trails.​​

Can I make a tour request over the phone?​

No. We only process tour requests through our website.

When are guided tours available?​

Guided tours are available by request year round and are weather dependent.

What if I miss my reservation?

When you reserve bikes, we hold those bikes and make sure they are ready for you. This means no one can rent and ride those bikes that day. If you reserve bikes, but never pick them up, you will not receive a refund for any reason.

 


CANCELLATION POLICY 

*Please double check your reservation date. If you arrive the day after your reservation, you will not receive a refund for the reservation from the previous day and you will need to make a new booking if bikes are available. 

There is a 48 hour cancellation policy for bike rentals. All transactions are final within 48 hours of your reservation. Cancelling up to 48 hours prior to the rental activity will receive a refund. There is a 10% fee for cancelling a reservation prior to 48 hours due to bank transaction fees. Cancelling or no-shows within 48 hours of the activity will result in no refund.

WEATHER RELATED CANCELLATION POLICY

*We only refund reservations due to lightning or moisture (heavy rain or snow) that can lead to trail and/or equipment damage. This means that cancelations due weather that is not ideal or is uncomfortable (light snow, rain, wind, or heat) will not be eligible for a refund. June - August temperatures are often extreme and high winds are common. We do not refund cancellations due to heat and/or wind - that is the typical weather during that time period. Mountain biking sometimes requires proper clothing like rain jackets, gloves, and other performance wear. We want every customer to have an enjoyable experience, however, imperfect weather is sometimes part of the adventure. Remember to bring the appropriate gear for the possible weather conditions.
